My Background

 

I'm a mother of 3 grown children and grandmother to 9 ranging in ages from 7 to 17. I've worked a variety of jobs over the years, primarily in transportation. Ranging from being a school bus driver in a major city to a dispatcher and Field Manager, I've paid my dues to Corporate America. In June 2007 I lost my job and decided I wanted something more out of life.

What attracted me to Scentsy...

 

I've tried a lot of different direct sales companies over the years. After my last attempt in 2006 (3 different companies) I decided I was never going to join another company. I "wasn't a salesperson", "couldn't accept rejection", "was too shy". You name it, I had an excuse for why I hadn't succeeded.

 

My sister first told me about Scentsy in October 2006. I was vehemently against learning about anything else. She got her kit and was so excited. I had to come over and check it out. I did but wasn't impressed (had to maintain my image at this point). Well, I held out until February 2007 and joined Scentsy. I was so impressed with the quality of the warmers and scents. Plus, the company is young, progressive, and everyone is definitely hands-on and involved with making our company rise to the top of the industry. Orville Thompson, the owner of Scentsy, had shown that he is willing to take the extra step to ensure great service to our customers and consultants.

 

When I lost my job I decided I was going to work for myself instead of an employer. I started actively working to build my business and I'm happy to say I made Director in November 2007. This is my full-time "job". I'm finally enjoying what I do.
