The MLM Mystery
Why
is it so hard to make MLM work? Well, some of the answers may surprise you. For
starters, it may not be all your fault, though we all have to shoulder some of
the blame. For
those who need a brief explanation of what MLM is, it's a system where basically
you earn an income off of the efforts of the people in your organization. In
other words, you don't have to make all the money on your own. On the surface,
this may seem like a great model. After all, isn't that how you make a lot of
money, by cashing in on the efforts of others? Certainly the owner of your local
supermarket does it by hiring a number of people to run his store. He certainly
doesn't do it all by himself. And while MLM and running a supermarket may not
exactly be the same thing, they both do require you to have help to run a
successful business. There
are several problems with the MLM model in making model. For one thing, there is
the problem with getting people into your organization to begin with. People are
so jaded by all the MLM failures that have gone before them that they are
hesitant to get involved in one. So recruiting in itself is not an easy thing to
do. But
the bigger problem is that even if you are a great ad writer and a great
recruiter, it is very difficult to motivate people to do the same. The number of
people who you bring into your organization and actually do any work at all are
few and far between. The truth is, people are lazy, and when they see how much
work is involved, they don't want to do it and eventually drop out. What happens
as a result is that you are constantly cycling through members and your
membership never really seems to grow. It may get to a certain level, but after
a while members who came on board 3 months ago are gone. And this cycle
continues on forever. So what's the answer? Well, the truth is, there is no answer. By having a company that provides excellent support, has a system that is at least easy to use, and finally has a good pay plan, you can reduce the number of dropouts and increase recruiting rates. But ultimately, no MLM, not matter how good, runs by itself. The member must still put in the time and effort. And as long as there are lazy people in the world who want to push a button and have $100 bills drop from the sky, there is always going to be drop out. So the truth is, the MLM mystery is really no mystery at all. The mystery is why people are like they are. And that is one mystery that will NEVER be solved.
